In its upcoming art exhibit, Southern Missouri Arts Connection (SMAC) will be featuring the work of 14 area photographers in The Art of Photography. The exhibit will run from November 3-25 at the SMAC Art Center gallery on historic Downing Street in Hollister. The opening reception will be held in conjunction with the First Friday Art Walk on Friday, November 3, from 6-9 p.m. Both the exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. Last Wednesday, October 25th, Mayor Lamar Patton celebrated Lights on After School with the Hollister Tiger Academy. He was presented with a blue sash as a gift from the “Mayors of Tiger Academy.” The City of Hollister is proud of the after-school programs for the Hollister students and appreciates each of the teachers and staff members that make this program amazing.

This Friday, November 3rd, the City of Hollister invites you to join them for the Annual Downing Street Christmas Tree Lighting at 6:00pm at the Downing Street Pedestrian Mall. Enjoy cookies and hot chocolate as we sing carols and wait for a visit from the jolly old elf himself, Santa Claus. The City of Hollister’s Building Department is excited to announce the release of our Online Building Permit Platform. Customers will have the option to complete their Commercial or Residential Building Permit Application or their Sign Permit Application online. Additional applications are available on the website to download with the ability to submit by email. Check out the new portal at https://tinyurl.com/2p8kr86f . Owners, Tenants, and Contractors will also be able to schedule inspections on the calendar at a time which is convenient for them, or they may still call to schedule an inspection with our team. If you prefer to come to the Building Department for one-on-one assistance, we are still available to serve you.
